A REMINDER FROM THE SALEM COUNTY IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY
Li-ion batteries should NOT be disposed of in household trash or recycling bins! Most Lowes, Home Depot and Staples stores have collection bins for high-energy, rechargeable, cellphone, and single use batteries. The Battery Network (formerly call2recycle) has a drop off location tool, searchable by zip code: www.batterynetwork.org/locator/ CHIPPING IS ON A CALL IN BASIS. Chipping will occur every other Thursday through September. Call Public Works at 856-769-2485 and leave a message with your name, address, and phone number to be added to the list. They do not call back unless there is an issue. This is for occasional tree trimmings and fallen small branches. They can not take anything that has a root ball or dirt attached. If you have a contractor come do tree trimming, the contractor is responsible for the removal of the tree.
REMINDER: Please make sure your trash cans are a minimum of 3 feet away from any item, including other cans, cars, poles, etc. to ensure pick up
