We are currently accepting applications for the position of backup crossing guard
for the upcoming school year.
Backup crossing guards should be available to cover any of the crossing guard
posts within the borough in the event of a regular crossing guard call-out. When
school is in session, crossings take place Monday through Friday during the
following times:
Crossing times for full school day (2 crossings)

  • 7:00 am to 7:50 am
  • 2:25 pm to 3:15 pm

Crossing times for half school day for all schools (2 crossings)

  • 7:00 am to 7:50 am
  • 11:50 am to 12:40 pm

Crossing times when dismissal times vary by school (3 crossings)

  • 7:00 am to 7:50 am
  • 11:50 am to 12:40 pm
  • 2:25 pm to 3:15 pm

Pay: Crossing guards are paid on an hourly basis with a minimum of 6 hours of pay
per day worked. The current rate for 2023 is $15.71 per hour.
