The Zoning Officer is responsible for inspecting structures and land within the Borough. You may obtain zoning permits online, or directly from the zoning office located on the second floor of Borough Hall. Zoning approval is required for all exterior projects that include the changing of the footprint of the property or land (examples: additions, new buildings, sheds, decks, patios, pavers, signs, etc.) You are also required to obtain approval from the Zoning Officer for the Change of Use of a building, or land. When applying for a Zoning Permit, please submit a copy of the survey or site plan of the property showing the changed footprint or area of the proposed project/use. The original of this site plan or survey must have been sealed by a licensed engineer. No hand drawn plans will be accepted. The application must be completed in full in order and with the required documents, to be processed. If you are also applying for Construction permits, please be advised that you must first obtain Zoning approval prior to the start of any work, when applicable. Upon approval by the Zoning Officer the application will be forwarded to the Construction/Building Department for review, if required.
If you have a question as to whether or not a Zoning Permit is required, please contact the Zoning Officer.
